Legal system and codification: Combination of canonical legal principles, including Muslim and Jewish traditions, and Civil Law traditions. Administration: The Supreme Council of the Judiciary, headed by the King, has administrative authority over the judiciary. Shari'a or Personal Status: Moroccan law is based on French Civil Law and a combination of Muslim and Jewish traditions.
